aKardiyoloji ABD, Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, ISPARTA Muscular bridge is defined as narrowing of any coronary artery segment in systole but a normal diameter in diastole. A muscular bridge is found in 0.5-12% of all coronary angiography procedures. Almost all of the bridges involve the left anterior descending coronary artery and they are very rarely seen in the diagonal artery. Muscular bridge at the septal branch of the left anterior descending coronary artery has never been reported. We reported a 46 year-old male presenting with acute anterior myocardial infarction. His coronary angiography showed subtotal occlusion of the left anterior descending coronary artery. After successful percutaneous coronary intervention using a 3.5 x 16 mm stent, a muscular bridge at the septal branch of the left anterior descending coronary artery became apparent clearly which resulted in 80% narrowing of the diameter. Keywords: Coronary angiography; coronary circulationTurkiye Klinikleri J Cardiovasc Sci 2007, 19:207-208
